The season will begin in two weeks, Monday, May 18th.  If you haven’t paid yet, please get your fees into the office by tomorrow if at all possible.  If you haven’t mailed it yet, you can deliver it to the church office in person also.  They’re open from 8AM to 5PM.  I’ll get the schedules out early next week.  See you on the diamond.

We’re about a month away and the sign-ups are trickling in.  Don’t forget that May 4th is the deadline for getting all your fees paid.  If you can let me know before you pay if you are in or out, that would be a great help to me, just so I have an idea of who to count on.  Not much else to report right now.  Hope to see you all on the diamond soon.

The results are in!  And, yes, they’ve been in for several days, but I’m just now getting the chance to sit down and broadcast them to the Interweb.

Congrats to Redwood Gospel MIssion who won the Rec league championship, defeating Sonoma Avenue Church of Christ 16-6.

Congrats to SRBC Red who won the Competitive league championship, defeating Spring Hills 12-7.

Congrats to Spring Hills 2 who won the Coed league championship, defeating Santa Rosa Christian Church 18-6.

Unfortuntaely, there are no trophies, just the satisfaction of know you won and that everyone will be gunning for you next year.

I hope everyone enjoyed the leagues this year.  I know I had a great time running things and for all the opportunities to talk with folks from different churches in the community.  Hope to see you all again next year.

The Monday night coed standings have been updated and here they are.

SRCC and Spring Hills 2 have clinched their playoff spots but the other two are up for grabs between Hessel, Spring Hills 1, and New Vintage.  Neither of those teams square off against each other, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens in three seperate games before we can see who qualifies.  There’s three teams vying for two spots!  Is this a pennant race or what?!  Please report your scores PROMPTLY (Monday night after the games would be perfect) as everyone will be waiting to hear what the results are.  Good luck everybody.

Oh, and do all the Tuesday night teams know when they’re playing?  I sent you all the info but only got a reply back from one team.  If you’re unsure, check the bracket in the previous post or contact me.

The standings have been updated for the Monday and Tuesday night leagues, but not Thursday night.  I’m missing all the scores from that league from 7/24 except for Nazarene vs. SRBC.  That’s the only score I do have.  If you haven’t reported a score from that night yet please do so ASAP.  For the next couple weeks please try to get your scores in immediately as they may have playoff implications and I want to make sure I get the playoff info out to qualifying teams as soon as I can.

I have had a few emails and other comments about the restrooms not being unlocked during game times.  They actually have been unlocked along with the gates to the fields by the field prep folks, but unfortunately the type of lock that is on the restroom door is causing the problem.  Its a push-button and twist style lock and if it is the wrong position it will remain locked even after the door closes.  This leads to it being locked from the inside when no one actually is inside.  I’ve brought this up with the church maintenance staff, so hopefully they will be able to get a different kind of lock on there before too long.

In the meantime, I’ll be sending an email to all the coaches to ask their players to make sure the door is unlocked before leaving the restroom.  If it still appears like it will lock, turn the button the other way and turn the door handle to pop the lock out.  I hope this makes sense.  I’m trying to describe it the best I can from memory.  I realize this is not the best solution, but for the time being, before a different lock can be installed its the best I can do.  lf you’re reading this, please share the information with as many people who may attend games as you can.  My apologies for the inconvenience.
